ROCB A/P visits to Royal Malaysia Customs Department and AKMAL Melaka

11-12 March 2025, Ms. Asuka Nagamatsu, Program Manager of ROCB A/P and Ms. Aksara Mackhawiman, Assistant Program Manager of ROCB A/P visited the Royal Malaysia Customs Department (RMCD) to their training center at AKMAL Melaka to discuss over various topics in Training Management, and the headquarters in Putrajaya to conduct interviews on the WCO Annual Needs Survey for the A/P region to know their situation and their needs in-depth, and also to gain insights that guide future Capacity Building Programme of the WCO.

During the visit to AKMAL, as a research mission of the WCO Training Management Project, ROCB A/P engaged in comprehensive discussion with the representatives from AKMAL Melaka, focusing on several key areas on training management. The discussion covered annual training plan development, designing training course, distant learning, trainer management, and budgeting process of training course. Following the discussions, AKMAL provided us with an observation of their training facilities and the induction training course conducted at that time.  The visit successfully obtained valuable insights and good practices from RMCD. This additional information will significantly enhance the content in the Training Management Compendium in A/P region.

ROCB A/P took this opportunity to visit the RMCD headquarters in Putrajaya to conduct interviews regarding their response to the WCO Annual Needs Survey for the A/P region. The interviews enabled ROCB A/P to gain a deeper understanding of their situations and allowed us to seek clarification on specific needs they had expressed to convey to the WCO.
