Mr. Jun Tajima, Head of ROCB A/P, and Ms. Asuka Nagamatsu, CCF/Japan Operation Manager and Program Manager, visited RILO A/P in Tokyo, Japan on the sidelines of a series of meetings in Japan.  Mr. Toshihiko Osawa and Ms. Yuko Watanabe kindly welcomed the ROCB A/P.

During the meeting, Mr. Tajima shared recent capacity building activities in the Asia Pacific Region including the annual needs survey that Japan Customs and ROCB A/P is jointly conducting, which is tasked by the Regional Strategic Plan of the WCO A/P Region. Mr. Tajima requested RILO A/P for future information exchange on Members regarding intelligence in order for the WCO to provide more targeted assistances with Members Administrations.  They discussed future capacity building activities in the A/P region by both organisations including the new initiatives of the WCO and RILO A/P “Data/Intelligence Professionals Programme”. Both parties confirmed to continue strengthening collaboration in the Region especially on capacity building activities such as the ways to improve support for Customs Administrations in the region.
