 The Virtual Working Group on Gender Equality and Diversity (GED) met on November 5, 2024. Ms. Aksara Mackhawiman, Assistant Program Manager of ROCB A/P attended.
 
During the meeting, a presentation on the updates of the WCO was made in promoting Gender Equality and Diversity (GED). Key highlights included updates on the Network for GED conference, held in October 2023. This event featured panels on enhancing gender equality and inclusion through the prevention of harassment, gender-based violence, discrimination, and promoting gender-responsive and inclusive policies and procedures in trade facilitation.
 
Followed by the progress of the development of the Compendium for GED in Customs, Edition III, the development of the pool of recognized GED experts were also shared. Currently, there are 7 fully recognized GED experts. The updates of the Virtual Working Group folder on the CLiKC! platform was presented. This folder serves as a vital resource hub for GED-related materials. An overview of the recent GED capacity-building activities was provided. This includes the GEOAT introductory session. Additionally, country experiences from Namibia and the UK were shared, detailing how they conducted assessments and developed action plans to further GED initiatives.
